We met Amy Mary Theresa O'Brien Garret in SUGAR TIME. Her husband, Wally, left to join the Seabees, a branch of the Navy. He expected Amy to manage their small farm along with their daughters, Sissy and Beth Ann and her foster daughter, Shirley Temple. Amy survives the attack by Mrs. Warwick, a German spy. When Amy learns Wally, her husband, is AWOL from the Navy she is determined to find him. She plans to buy his share of the farm. Amy is in love with Captain Rob Weeks and she needs Wally's signature on an application to the catholic bishop to get her marriage annulled.
