Synopsis "Zusammenhang zwischen Osteoporose und Parodontalerkrankung (in German)"

Ziel dieser Studie war es, den Zusammenhang zwischen den Serum-Vitamin-D- und IL-6-Spiegeln bei Patienten mit chronischer Parodontitis und der Knochenmineraldichte vor und nach einer oralen Prophylaxe zu untersuchen. 36 systemisch gesunde Frauen wurden für die Studie ausgewählt. Es wurde festgestellt, dass mit der Erhöhung des Vitamin-D-Serumspiegels ein Rückgang der parodontalen Parameter (GI, SBI, PI, PD) und des parodontalen Biomarkers (IL-6) sowie ein Anstieg der Knochenmineraldichte (DEXA-Scan) aufgrund der nicht-chirurgischen Parodontaltherapie und der oralen Vitamin-D-Supplementierung zu verzeichnen war. Der Vitamin-D-Spiegel stieg sowohl durch die Parodontaltherapie als auch durch die orale Supplementierung an. Eine Bestimmung des Vitamin-D-Spiegels, insbesondere bei Patienten mit chronischer Parodontitis, sollte zu Beginn der Parodontaltherapie empfohlen werden, da sie das mögliche Fortschreiten und das Risiko der Entwicklung einer chronischen Parodontitis vorhersagen und verringern könnte.
