Radium-223-dichlorid (Ra-223) ist ein Alpha-emittierendes Radiopharmazeutikum, dessen zugelassene Indikation bei Patienten mit kastrationsresistentem Prostatakrebs mit Knochenmetastasen (CRPC) im Juni 2018 aufgrund des Auftretens von Arzneimittelwechselwirkungen mit gängigen CRPC-Medikamenten wie Abirateron und Prednison/Prednisolon geändert wurde. Daher wurde es auf die Verwendung in der Monotherapie oder in Kombination mit Analoga des luteinisierenden Hormons beschränkt, wodurch es zu einer Drittlinientherapie bei Patienten mit mCRPC wurde, für die ein Mangel an Beweisen für seine Wirksamkeit und Sicherheit in diesem neuen Kontext besteht.
