Synopsis "William Shakespeare's The Twelfth Night (in English)"

A great humorous story about mistaken identities. The play Twelfth Night revolves around Sebastian and his twin sister, Viola, who, after being separated following a shipwreck, each believes the other is dead. The play opens when Viola assumes the identity of Cesario, a page in the Duke of Orsino's household. The Duke is smitten by Countess Olivia, but she rejects him in favor of the freshly arrived young page. The comedic antics of Malvolio, Sir Toby Belch, the maid Maria, and Sir Andrew Aguecheek contribute to the perplexity, which is nicely rectified when Viola and Sebastian reunite. This amusing masterwork, which contains some of the finest comedic situations in the English language, is one of Shakespeare's most popular and performed comedies.
