Synopsis "Whitewashing Julia and Other Plays (in English)"

Three comedies of societal hypocrisy. WHITEWASHING JULIA, adapted from a play by Henry Arthur Jones, tells the story of Julia Wren, whose presence is at first rejected by the scions of society, because of some supposedly scandalous behavior that once occurred in Berlin. But when scandal threatens the "protectors" of public mores and decorum, she suddenly becomes amazingly more acceptable! In THE SEVEN CREAM JUGS, adapted from a story by Saki, the kleptomaniac head of a British family arrives unexpectedly at the wedding of his cousin's daughter; his relatives are too embarrassed to ask him to leave, but too wary to let him get away with snatching their child's wedding gifts. VIOLENT ATTACHMENTS, based on an anonymously authored 18th-century British novel, features Lady Pam and Lady Easy, too VERY affected noblewomen who form a "violent attachment" for each other, leading to preposterously funny adventures. Great entertainment for modern audiences!
