Synopsis "What about Your Friends (in English)"
Lookout Necole Bitchie and Perez Hilton, there is a new it girl in town and her name is Marcie Chung. In What About Your Friends, David desperately longs for his piece of the American pie. Fresh out of Harvard's elite business school with his MBA, David lands a six-figure salary at one of the top consulting firms in DC. On paper David has it all, gorgeous looks, career, luxury car, apartment and money in the bank. His best friend and partner in crime, Dontae just moves back in town after the death of his lover. Things start to unravel between the best friends when, both David and Dontae join an online exclusive social group. The Inner Circle caters to the well-to-do black man, and is where David taps into his hidden talent of writing. He later receives an offer from a new acquaintance, Marcie that he can't refuse, to start their very own blog, MarcieChung.com. Marcie is a beautiful women who only dates high-profile men, which keeps her very close to some of the most explosive celebrity gossip. The blog sees unprecedented internet traffic during its launch and Marcie becomes a household name, overnight, knocking out its competitors. But, as the blog continues to soar, David finds himself kicked out of the Inner Circle due to a love triangle between Dontae and another group member, Kelvin that he is totally blindsided by, that may lead to the demise of their friendship. During a marketing event for MarcieChung.com, David's past indiscretions come back to haunt him and he finds himself in jail, vying to put the pieces of his life back together. In What About Your Friends the characters find it difficult to trust those closest to them. Lines are crossed, ties are severed, and bridges are burned and David finds himself asking the question: who can I really trust?
