This devotional focuses on the twenty-five statements Jesus made in the book of John where He emphasized or punctuated these statements with the phrase "Verily, verily". Verily, verily is a strong idiom in Hebrew - forceful - doubly true. When used in this manner, it means more than just truly, truly... When a Jew repeated a word twice as Jesus did when He said, "verily, verily" it meant more than truly, it means absolutely and most definitely true. I am reminded of the naval term "Now hear this."
