Synopsis "Urban Princess (in English)"
For many years Ester Powell's only connection to her biological family was sporadic visits from her paternal grandfather, Herman Sullivan. Herman, a former local politician turned entrepreneur, knew that his son had befriended a family acquaintance, an innocent young woman who catered several events at the Sullivan home. But no one knew that the young woman had become pregnant. Later, while his son was studying abroad, Herman learned of the baby and feared the repercussions if his family ever found out. He felt guilty but he decided to keep the information about the baby to himself. Herman secretly assisted and cared for the mother of his unborn grandchild and later visited the baby, Ester, on birthdays and at Christmas. Things may have remained awkward and isolated as far as Ester was concerned if it had not been for actions her mother set in motion before Ester was born. Information hidden away for over sixteen years came to light just in time to shake things up and change Ester's life forever. Herman and Ester grew very close and he lovingly called Ester his little princess but he never imagined that she was actually a descendant of a royal African bloodline and neither did anyone else, especially Ester herself.
