Earl F. Palmer is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley and Princeton Theological Seminary. He has served as Senior Pastor of the Union Church of Manila, First Presbyterian Church of Berkeley, and University Presbyterian Church in Seattle, and most recently as Preaching Pastor in Residence at the National Presbyterian Church in Washington, D.C. Earl continues a ministry of teaching, preaching and writing under the auspices of the Board of Earl Palmer Ministries, founded in 2008. His other books include Trusting God, The Book that John Wrote, and Salvation by Surprise: Studies in the Book of Romans and 1, 2, and 3 John/Revelation in The Preachers Commentary Series. Earl and his wife, Shirley, live in Seattle, where they enjoy their adult children and eight grandchildren.
