Synopsis "Through a Picket Fence: Poets Meet Poetry (in English)"
Through a Picket Fence, a collection of poems about poets and their work, is the fifth in the Hobbyist Collection of poetry, a series focused on pastimes of ordinary citizens of the world. In this volume, the author likens poetry to a recreational pursuit that quenches his need to explore the wonderful world of words, much as archeology, gardening, playing bridge and hunting (the foci of earlier volumes in the Hobbyist Collection) quench other needs. Following the lead of other volumes in the Hobbyist Collection, the author presents here more than six dozen poems that focus on the nature of poetry - how he envisions the process of writing, the topics poets choose, and inspiration. Through a Picket Fence is wild ride through the private world of a poet. In no special order, humor follows satire, follows reflection, follows inspiration, follows insight, follows staid observation, and on and on, following the roller coaster tracks of my imagination.
