Synopsis "Thoughts From a Redneck Yankee: From Eisenhower to Trump (in English)"

Part One is the story of the life and times of a Baby Boomer. The emphasis is not on the Baby Boomer, as a protagonist, but rather on the events that take place from his birth to the election of President Barak Obama. I began this book because I was astonished how little the Millennial Generation and younger people knew about the Civil Rights Movement, the radical sixties, and the Vietnam War. Yes, their generation (born between 1980 and 1999) had technical savvy, but their knowledge of history you could put in a thimble. A secondary theme of Part One is the modern day War of Northern Aggression. Having lived extensively in both the North and the South, I find the political and social views of both regions both amusing and sometimes tragic. I will write about my growing up in the North, my Southern relatives, and going to college in the South during the Civil Rights Movement and the Vietnam War. Part Two is about the years following the election of President Barak Obama. The title Is United We Stand and Divided We Fall and that is exactly what I examine in relation to the events that happen during those years. We fought a great Civil War in which 750,000 people were killed-more than all the people killed in WWI and WWII combined. We were able to survive that division; can we survive the latest division of our people?
