Gaspar helps the Roman proconsul, Pilate, and his wife escape from Jerusalem to Parthia. When the apostle Thomas hears of the plan, he asks to go along. Once in the city of Babylon, Thomas and his companions start telling anyone who will listen to them about the risen Christ. The Parthian king of kings has Gaspar abducted and taken to an east empire work camp to die. Gaspar goes from riches to rags while Thomas joins a merchant who is returning to his emotionally disturbed wife and daughter in India, hoping that the apostle can heal them. Both Gaspar and Thomas have one adventure after another as they live out what it means to be a follower of Jesus.
