The necessity for those in Christ to lean not unto their own understanding, but trust the Word of God is presented by an illustration known as vertigo. 3.Soldiers and Such reveals why Jesus has such a high regard for soldiers. It speaks of how the understanding of the kingdom of God was altered forever by the obedience of a Jewish fisherman and a Roman soldier. The gospel is for everyone.4.Grandchildren Are the Crown of Old Men tells of the grandeur of the relationship between old men and their grandchildren and escalates both to a 'higher level.' The poem "High Flight," by John Gillespie Magee, Jr., is used as a point of departure to illustrate that "where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." To be a Papa is even better than just being a grandfather. Only 'Papas' and their grandchildren know the difference between a grandfather and a Papa. Papa's play with their grandchildren, get down on their hands and knees even when getting up gets harder to do.5.From the Cockpit to the Pulpit speaks to how God can take a man with the ego and attitude of a reprobate fighter pilot and use that man for His purpose. When I woke up one morning craving fried chicken, I knew I was called to preach the gospel.
