These unfavorable circumstances have increased the percentages of African Americans suffering from a lack of education, broken homes and communities, high rates of preventable health problems and diseases, and behaviors that display a sense of self hate. This is not to negate or ignore the fact that there are many visible and hidden disparities in America assisting in the dysfunctional state of many African American communities, it is to identify avoidable behaviors and decisions being made by many Black people, causing this rapid rate of regression.
