Synopsis "The Trescoes: of North Tresskinnock Farm (in English)"

This is a story of a Cornish farming family. The farm is Norh Tresskinnock Farm and it has been farmed by the Trescoes for five generations. This book relates one particular year, nineteen fifty eight. This year was chosen by the author as it was the year he and his family moved to Cornwall and struggled against the weather and many other obstacles, to make a living. The Trescoes consist of Tom and Martha and their three children, Kate, David and Robert. The story includes the ups and downs of family life in the country as well as their struggle against weather and social difficulties. The story is based on occurrences that happened to the author during the first few traumatic years in Cornwall. The Tresskinnock farmhouse was centuries old and consisted of cob walls with a thatched roof. The farm is a mixed dairy and arable farm of 290 acres. Approximately 50 ewes are also lambed on the farm. Transport at that time was not good, there was no telephone or mains water or electricity on North Tresskinnock Farm. Try and put yourself in Tom or Martha's position and imagine how you would cope with the difficulties that are described here in. A far different time. Please enjoy this book, I intend to make a trilogy of "The Trescoes".
