A drunken old man drowns, a girl has jumped to her death off the hotel's roof, an old nemesis is found dead after being struck by a car on the seafront, the hotel's chef is found dead on the beach. He can see them all. The Sound of Seagulls is a book set in Worthing between 1987 and 1988. It is also a black comedy. Eddowes is a young man who discovers that he can see dead people. The trouble is, he doesn't know who's dead and who's alive.
