Synopsis "The Song of the Dishes (in English)"
I caution you not to expect a tale filled with adventures and excitement. I will not speak of ancient wonders, nor will it take place in foreign lands. There will be no acts of great courage, nor handsome heroes to cheer. There will be no monsters, no mysteries, nor miracles to marvel at in this storytelling. This tale is true, it all takes place in this very inn, and sadly, it has no ending, happy, or otherwise. That is, not as of this night." With these last words, tears welled up in the innkeeper's eyes that he brushed away with his sleeve before continuing. He gave out an ironic laugh. "Truthfully," he joked, "my story is mostly about washing dishes, . . . yes, washing dishes." In a more serious manner, he added, "It is a story of great beauty balanced with, perhaps, even greater sadness. It is about washing dishes, an innocent, young girl, a haunting melody, and, oh yes, a touch of black magic."
