Synopsis "The Salvation of San Miguel (in English)"

San Miguel is a small forgotten town in far south Texas. It is threatened by a psychopathic drug lord, Caesar Cortez. Sheriff Juan Cordova is out of resources. His normal avenues of state and federal help appear to have vanished. In desperation he calls on a former college professor, Dr. Jackson Reynolds, for counsel and advice. Jack and his artist wife Ellen come to San Miguel. They are in over their heads. They will not abandon Juan or his town. Jack and Ellen realize God has brought them there, but for what reason. The Sheriff's department intercepts a massive weapons haul and suddenly the town has firepower. But there are few people to wield it. Jack is forced to cancel a planned party which was to be held in his honor. An honor given by former student veterans. Forty-two of those students show up in town many are former U. S. Special Forces and all have seen battle. The debauchery of their enemy is brought home when a citizen of the town is sent back across the border with four boxes chained around his neck. What are a sheriff's department of seventeen, plus forty-two trained U.S. Armed Forces veterans and several townspeople to do against a heavily armed cartel numbering over a thousand? But there are other forces at play. Cortez says he has legal right to the town granted by the government of the United States. No one in the town believes it, and they will fight for every inch of their county, their state, and their country. It is a 21st century battle of the Alamo. But will the end be any different than the original.
