Synopsis "The Practice of Accountability in Sports Organizations (in English)"
The main objective of this work is to analyze the Practice of Accountability in Sports Organizations. Initially, an analysis was made of: Corporate Governance, Accountability, Stakeholders, Accountability and Stakeholders and Accountability in Sports Organizations. The ideal model of accountability adopted was that proposed by Grant and Keohane with seven mechanisms. Next, in a multiple case study at the Brazilian Volleyball Confederation (CBV) and the Brazilian Rugby Confederation, five stakeholders per organization were interviewed using a semi-structured script to verify the practice of accountability. The data obtained was then studied in detail. That said, it emerged that the Accountability model adopted as an ideal is not applied in its entirety in the organizations studied. There was a great lack of specific delimitation of accountability. According to the unanimity of those interviewed, there was a great lack of training for the managers of these institutions. Therefore, having achieved the objectives of the study, it was possible to gain a better understanding of the Practice of Accountability in Sport.
