The year was 1970. The Ivy League schools, Seven Sister Colleges and other elite universities had all agreed to change their admissions policy. They wanted to recruit more blacks and women. Yale University president told his fellow college presidents, " We will have a black and a woman President of the United States in their children's lifetime. The seeds had been planted. An attractive white woman, a smart black man, and a shrews twenty-six year old white male all seek to climb the political ladder in Hagerstown, NJ. One seek to become Governor, one a Congressman, and the other Mayor. They must fight hard to overcome major challenges. One wins, one loses and one goes to jail. It is a political drama. It shows some of the worse elements of our society at times. But, it ultimately shows the greatness of America.
