When Sonya receives a letter from NASA including her as an archeologist on the next mission to Saffron Moon, she has no idea what she is in for up there with a group of Plumbers trying to extract water from the interior of the Moon while she struggles to preserve the moon's cultural artifacts. Meet Sarada one of the original inhabitants of the moon, living underground after the great Water Wars with the Planet Festina Cum Deo. Unbeknownst to the Plumbers, this group of humans, calling themselves the First Order, slowly reveal themselves to the Plumbers and to Sonya. As the novel progresses, more things are revealed as tensions between Earth and Saffron heat up over technology rights. As always, there is a twist at the end, leaving the reader with a sense of the sublime. From the first page to the last, you will find this novel engaging as well as thought provoking.
