When Carl B. Gamel, Jr. initially gathered his scattered writings together and presented those typed, handwritten, and printed items to his oldest daughter, Susan Gamel Otto, she knew there was too much material for one volume. Carl agreed, so they decided on a trilogy, which actually grew to four volumes after working on this volume, Volume 2. The Next Thirty Years - Kind Of is Volume 2 of Carl B. Gamel, Jr.'s autobiographical writings. Where Volume 1, Twenty-Five Years, covered the first twenty-five years of Carl's life, this volume contains additional family history and stories that were omitted in his first volume. Volume 2 also contains details about his bachelor days after the Korean War, the joys of courtship with Mary Sue, and their marriage on June 11, 1955. Next he shares their life as they moved from Ft. Wright to Ft. Thomas to Nashville, TN to Covington to Taylor Mill - including details about his career, commitments, friends, hobbies, losses, etc. through the end of the 1970s.
