Pope Francis, an English pope, grown out of his faith, decides to resign, abdicate, in a word, disappear. The Pope scrambles across Italy in disguise with Sheba, a young lady helping him escape, and helping him at the same time to metamorphose back into a normal person. The Italian police and the CIA give chase urged on by a furious Vatican hierarchy. The Pope's 80 year old mother enlists a newspaperman to track him down and unearth the truth behind his abdication. The plot comes to a boil in the beautiful piazza of Siena to find its finale shortly thereafter.
