Synopsis "The Island (in English)"
Holiday romantic thriller, The Island, is a story of single Brits abroad, exploring the Greek Isle of Thasos. The island's treasures include ancient Greek theaters, and markets. And nightly places of entertainment, discos, and dancing. There is danger in the hills beyond the island resort areas, a vagrant tramp-like ragged man, who lives alone but frequents the town. Four tourists, Eric, Miranda, Hannah, and Sally, who meet up on the plane coming over, encounter characters who are part of the daily throng of island life. Romance is in the air, with Thomas Williamson the author of some best selling books, Tobias Grosni, a photographer with a penchant for women of beauty and typical femme fatales. Meet Lisa Tanner an investigative journalist seeking a fugitive millionaire she believes has escaped to live in hiding on the island. There is romance, murder and intrigue in this ancient of places, with a history almost as old as the majestic tree covered mountains, that climb to a steep height at its center.
