The original manuscript was written in 1919 by Capt. Alexander White Spence, the Aide-de-Camp to the Division Commander. Consisting on over 630 pages of text, typed on legal size paper and accompanied by photographs and maps, the manuscript has been reproduced in two volumes. Volume 2; the appendices to Spence's manuscript, including field orders and memoranda; plans of liaison; casualty and evacuation reports; decorations, honors and commendations; roster of officers of the division during its active operations; list of French and British officers attached; station lists; experiences of P.O.W.s; biographical data on the general officers and chief of staff, and other miscellaneous documents. 20 sections of map sheets accompanying Spence's manuscript are included.
