Synopsis "The Goose Grail (in English)"
From the Norwegian fjords to "Norwegian Wood," a sixth century waif calls to a 1960s errant scholar, for each is under the spell of the divine Great Goose. Bran Maelduin, the scholar, unearths in Ase of Yrsfjord's runic script, a metaphysics of goose migration. Flocks in their flight lattice the Earth in a tapestry of Ways-Otherworld footpaths revealed for seekers of the Goose Grail. Bran, with his companions, human and otherwise, follow this honker lattice, across the stepping stone islands of the North Atlantic in the wake of migrating geese. With his long lost love, a hermit bush pilot, a pair of goose clerics, and the world's richest platypus, Bran, faces down the Swedish industrial complex, usurpers of the beautiful Northern Ways. But rather than a beak to beak showdown, the Great Goose appeals to everyone's finer, feathered natures. All one needs is Indian raga, astral travel, and full-on flower power.
