Synopsis "The Evolution of Europeans: The pre-history of Europeans from 6 million years ago to 10 thousand years ago (in English)"

The first part of The Evolution of Europeans tells the story of human origins from when we were small tree-dwelling animals similar to chimpanzees, through all the changes that made us human. Then in the second part, 1.8 million years ago, some of our ancestors ventured out of Africa for the first time and settled in Europe, where our homo ancestors were not adapted for suvival, not least because they encountered the northern hemisphere winter for the first time. During the last Ice Age, European ancestors were confronted with the most challenging of conditions from huge carnivores to glacial conditions. To survive European ancestors had to adapt fast, learning language, advanced tools, religion, clothing, weapons and much more this adapt or die situation turbo-charged our evolution. This book tells the story of survival against all odds and how that battle with survival brought its own rewards. This book on the evolution of our species tells us why Europeans and Asians developed so differently from their distant African cousins and explains how we became the people who we are today.
