The Elixir of Life is the prequel to the Legacy family saga. It all began with a bet, over a century before Book One, "The Summer of Tsunami", takes place. Who knew that their loves and lives were influences of voodoo? This book is the root, where those after the source of eternal life will either flourish or fail. The Elixir of Life gives more substance to the supernatural characters, introduced in Book Three "The Fall of Margaret", that play in the mortal affairs of the characters in the Legacy saga. Against an 1898 New Orleans, Storyville District backdrop, this tale pays homage to voodoo deities and old cultures. This novella shows how one woman's choices provides the opportunity for her descendants to produce the Philosopher's Stone to attain the Elixir of Life, if they so choose.
