Synopsis "The Devil's Widow and Other Stories (in English)"
My books are not written to educate, or to entertain. If they have a purpose it is only to be read...with a seriousness born from a love of language... then by fits and starts, the way a sail opens slowly to the wind, come to life in your imagination...to roam the seas, forests, beaches and cities of your imagining. From the unformed chaos, rich with will and idea, these persons, places and things called... and I brought them forth, nurtured and 'dressed' them, to take their place among the great family of Fiction. These stories all involve either love or fascination with a person, place or thing. The protagonists will act from the dictates of an inner tribunal. All are possessed of a separateness which defines themselves and their actions. In short, they insist and persist, like plants and animals do, in doing what they do, regardless of the formulas imposed by the World at large. They are pure, or involved in an act which will make them pure. And are, or so they like to think, prepared to undergo the consequences, which at times are whimsical or disastrous, epiphanous or entirely meaningless and deflating...
