Synopsis "The Dance (in English)"

Fiona Sullivan falls in love with dancing as she watches her parents dance Christmas Eve. Her parents know her how much she loves to dance, so they give her ballet lessons for Christmas. She is really excited about taking ballet lessons. It is a perfect Christmas for Fiona and she loves being with her parents thinking they were the best parents in the world. Christmas passes, and during the break from school, Kerry Fiona's mother starts to get sick. Fiona waits at home while her mother is taken to the hospital where she goes through a series of tests that reveal that she has cancer. Fiona is devastated that her mother is sick and becomes sad and depressed. Ardan Fiona's father convinces Fiona that she needed to continue with her ballet lessons. Fiona is good at dancing and continues to improve to the point she get a part in the Nutcracker. Fiona's parents are thrilled that she is doing so well with dancing, and it is one thing that helps to keep Kerry alive for so long so that she could watch Fiona dance. Kerry dies after over a year of fighting cancer. Her last words for Fiona is for her to continue dancing. Ardan struggles to help Fiona deal with her grief and to raise her as a single parent. Fiona has trouble with her eyes and learns that she will eventually become blind. Ardan promises that he will start dancing with Fiona in the hope of someday competing in dance competitions. They work hard at becoming good at dancing, and Fiona continues to excel with her ballet, but she also is afraid that she will not be able to dance when she loses her sight. Fiona losses her sight and is in high school. She goes through challenges of other students accepting her and trying to have friends. She also has to fight off a boy during a date who gets too close to her, and another boy Ronan who has a crush on her comes to her rescue. Fiona and her dad are able to compete in dancing competitions and win some of them. She also does well in ballet and wins a scholarship to a college. All of her dreams are realized when Ronan finally asks her out on a date and they dance on Christmas Eve with her father looking on thinking of how she will be okay.
