Synopsis "The Company of Lost Things (in English)"
Nora Chandler knows about princesses, pickpockets, octopods, and werewolves from books. She knows that when you jump down a rabbit hole you can, like Alice, end up in Wonderland. Nora is thirteen on her birthday. She is scared, because her father wants to send her away to boarding school. She is furious, because he can't even spend the day with her. And she is fascinated by a puddle that should not be there after a few days without rain. And as you so often do when you see a puddle, Nora jumps in. But the puddle has no bottom, and it takes her straight to another universe where she lives in the Lost & Found Office outside St Paul's Cathedral in another London, and meets Arthur the octopus. He and a handful of Victorian teenagers keep and explore the secret of the puddle. They also try to help Nora find a way home. However, they start a race against time when Lady Drake of the evil Shadow Shard organisation wants to use the puddle for her own ends. Will Nora find a way home in time and guard the secret of the puddle?
