Synopsis "The Bishop Is In a Hurry!: Letters of A Well-Traveled Ambassador for Christ Bishop Arthur J. Moore (in English)"

This is a collection of letters written by Bishop Arthur J. Moore while serving as a church leader in China, Korea, and Japan during the second Sino-Japanese War. He also served as a bishop in Europe during and after World War II. His descriptions of deviating consequences to the millions in Asia and Europe are enlightening and heartbreaking. He also made episcopal visits to Central Africa and India. Although a Christian Evangelist, he was not shy about his support for efforts to eliminate what he called "atheistic communism." He was quick to praise government leaders worldwide for their efforts to reach this goal and equally quick to criticize when he thought they were moving too slowly."As I reread the notes I have made, I would not like to leave the impression that I am boasting of vast labors or great sacrifice. This is the unvarnished story of a man who has never believed that the church is a battle that might be lost, but that it is in the service of the King Triumphant. Whether at home or abroad. I have labored passionately, I hope, with other men and women in making this church victorious and the cause of Christ triumphant. I do not claim that I have been one of the conspicuous leaders of my generation, but I do claim without embarrassment that iniial consecration I made when I asked for a place in the membership of a Methodist Annual Conference."-Arthur J. Moore, Bishop of the United Methodist Church
