The Farnum, Thompkins, and Charles Investigations Agency has to unravel a mystery which is rampant with murders, attempted murders, deceit, half truths, and intertwined malevolent plots. Joe Farnum is an ex-FBI agent. His partners, Peggy Brandi, and Larry Charles were wanted by the authorities on felony charges until Joe proved them to be innocent. Joe's girlfriend, Vickie Lowell is a nurse who is working towards completing her 3,000 hour requirement for becoming a licensed instigator. They each pursue a leg of an investigation and meet the harrowing experiences they encounter. Joe tries to keep them from taking too many risk, which puts their licenses, and lives in jeopardy, but he too on occasion steps over the line. Larry is a risk taker, and enjoys being on the edge, Peggy, who is a black belt in Jujitsu, and is a marks woman with a pistol works to keep the team's integrity in the moral zone, and Vickie is analytical, a problem solver. Joe believes in law and the value of justice. If you push him, he will not budge. He is a steam roller, and he never loses. The team is a dynamic force seeking the truth as the search for clues, and bring down criminals one way or the other.
