Synopsis "The Adventures of Tess Solo: First day (in English)"
Born with superior intelligence and a set of mismatched eyes - one blue and one brown - fourteen-year-old Tess Solo is determined to find her family, but after years of praying to God for help, she remains an orphan. Her government handler, Jack Morgan, sends her to the beleaguered crime lab in Detroit because he doesn't want her around his children. Though feeling hurt and rejected, she helps the team find a young Muslim girl who has been abducted. Her knowledge of Middle East culture and religion helps the team find the girl, but after she disobeys a direct order to rescue her, Tess fears her first day may be her last. About the authorDeborah Grace created the character of Tess Solo while still a teenager in St. Clair County, Michigan, where she grew up. After she married, she moved to York County, Pennsylvania where she worked as a religion and cop reporter for a 50,000 daily and 90,000 Sunday newspaper for 16 years. She decided to write about Tess Solo, just for fun, after her daughter started to study crime scene investigation. She had hundreds of crime stories to glean from as she wrote, as well as the knowledge of many different faith communities she covered as a religion reporter.
