Synopsis "The Able Queen: Memoirs of an Indiana Hump Pilot Lost in the Himalayas (in English)"

Step into history in THE ABLE QUEEN. Not historical fiction, but history, this is a rare first-person eyewitness report to the war as told by a young American Pilot flying one of the most dangerous routes in the world to deliver much needed arms and supplies to embedded troops in China during World War II.As a child, Bob Binzer, climbs trees to watch airplanes take off from Meigs Field and dreams of flying. He enlists in the Army Air Corps at the beginning of World War II, and finally gets a chance to learn to fly after Pearl Harbor. Anxious to get into action, what he does not know is that his mission will be in China, flying dangerous cargo over the Himalayan Mountains . As a Hump Pilot in the CBI Theatre of War he faces the dangers on his daily routes through enemy territories. He tells of surviving air raids and catastrophic storms and two plane crashes, but his luck runs out when he and his crew are forced to bail out of a doomed C-47 during a storm over a remote mountainous area of China populated by headhunters. What will it take for him to survive?
