As long as the rivers and creeks stay salty and heavy rains have not flooded the rivers, many speckled trout and redfish find refuge in the winter in the warmth of deep water and even through cold temperatures, trout feed on bait fish, that are plentiful. Another advantage of fishing creeks and rivers is that strong winds are not too much of a problem as if fishing in open bays.
