Shane and his twin, Skinner, are rascals who also happened to be heroic. Their loved ones and neighbors sing their praises. They serve as knights who had done the most in their realm to maintain law and order and protect their neighbors from the savages that never ceased dreaming and scheming to conquer their utopia. The times, however, are changing too fast to suit them. Indeed, the currents of history are conspiring to doom the Sand Rose Plantation--the Outback Shangri-la that they consider their beloved home. Alas, they need to brave the uncertainties of an era of turmoil and strife, while finding a new place to sink their roots into. As all hope of saving their utopia verges on fading, a mysterious lady from their master's past suddenly returns. She offers them and their loved ones and neighbors a solution to the troubles that threaten to devour their lives and everything they care about. Her intentions are noble. At least, that is what she claims. Her shenanigans, however, end up driving a wedge between them and their master. In doing so, she also drives a wedge between them, which widens a rift of resentment that had remained submerged in their relationship's dynamics for years. The troubles that ensue lead them to becoming involved with a man of mystery, who takes them under his wings and sets them on new life paths in his world. Meanwhile, the rift driving them apart continues widening and deepening until their great benefactor finally intervenes and imposes a solution. Events then conspire to help draw them back together, while making them less and less welcome on the world that they had embraced and that had adopted them. They then face the prospect of needing to start over yet again. Terminal Origins: Guessing Games tells about the beginning of the matters in question.
