A brutal serial killer dubbed as Casanova is on the loose. Charming and attractive, he wines and dines his victims before murdering them and ripping out their hearts. Private investigator Lara Steele is hired by Greg Hopkins to investigate the reason behind his wife's frequently unexplained disappearances and odd memory lapses. She soon discovers that Jenny has been prescribed a new anti-anxiety drug, Anxionol which could potentially be causing the strange side effects. Tensions heighten when Lara spots her friend Slade in a restaurant with Jenny but when she confronts him later he has no recollection of it. To her dismay Lara discovers that Slade is also taking Anxionol and appears to be experiencing his own bouts of amnesia. When Jenny's mutilated body is found with the heart missing, all evidence points to Slade and Lara fears that he may be the serial killer that the police are hunting. In a race against the clock and despite her own misgivings Lara works frantically to prove Slade's innocence and find the real killer before he has the opportunity to strike again.
