Synopsis "Springtime: Impressions of a Young Mind (in English)"

Having been born and raised in an Army family, my loving parents and older brother are my best friends to whom I can talk to about everything. We, as a family, are a gregarious lot who love to meet and connect with people, play cards and badminton in the evenings, go for family walks and last, but not the least, have spontaneous and interactive discussions on anything and everything around us. Others may have marathon movie sessions but me? My mother and I can have marathon talk sessions that can last anywhere between 20 minutes to 2 hours because we absolutely love to talk. So, it probably doesn't come across as a surprise that most of my poems can be traced back to the happenings around this family unit of mine. While discussing a particular topic, watching a movie, attending a function, having a stomach-ache or just plain thinking, a sudden thought comes to my mind that gets my creative juices flowing and results in me frantically trying to somehow record it somewhere before it slips away from my consciousness. It may be on a piece of paper or on one of my family WhatsApp chats (which I use as a notepad) or on my phone's voice recorder if the inspiration strikes me at midnight and I'm too sleepy to actually type or jot it down (which it has if you read this book). While writing or typing a new poem, I often ask my family which line would fit in better or would be more meaningful when I'm faced with two lines, and I cannot decide which one to add (I'm a Gemini, so being in a dilemma comes naturally, I guess). I love using literary devices such as Alliteration, Metaphor, Repetition and Personification, so you will come across them often; the titles of many of my poems are examples of alliteration. I also like to experiment and change up things, in the poems I write as well as in experimenting with the local dishes of the places we visit or reside in, making new mocktails and desserts with my family. I'm notorious among my classmates for long-winded explanations, but I guess you can already see that;) My poems explore a variety of subjects ranging from wishes, marriage, romance, humour and hope, to sensitive issues of our society, lifestyle and sadness. I hope that you will enjoy reading them as much as I've enjoyed writing them.
