Our Struggle to be Spiritual The problem with spirituality is there are so many approaches out there that some think it a waste of time. In this book, Spiritual Apes, our prototypes, Adam and Eve, are faced with the after-effects of the Archetypal or Original Sin as were our ancestors. As a result, we live in an imperfect world, yet we seek continue to discover purpose and find meaning. Unlike our first Homo Sapiens ancestors, we find ourselves free to seek what is meaningful and to make choices about our destiny. How can we survive in any age, much less our own, when nationalism and personal freedom take precedent over logic and historical heritage? The answers we discover and accept as our assumptions, our center, propel us forward. There is both a purpose for the human race we inherit and also a personal one that we must freely accept or not, but with one important caveat--once you center yourself on a Being outside of yourself, you will lose that center, if you don't sustain it, daily. Daily! That is the problem with our core values, we can't keep them there automatically. That is also the reason we have spirituality, although not all spirituality is authentic and will be able to keep us anchored. This is a book about the many struggles we face to be spiritual and the help our correct choice gives us to fulfill our nature and the purpose of our life.
