This edition of the medieval Franciscan text of the Speculum Beatae Mariae Virginis was re-edited and corrected based on selected manuscript copies by Conrad a Saxonia and first published by Quaracchi in 1913. The author, Conrad a Saxonia, a Franciscan friar and theologian, drew upon sources including The Bible, The Life of Jesus Christ, and The Life of St. Francis.
