It is with great honor I was given the opportunity, after many many years, to bring my Mom's book into fruition, as she had requested so long ago. I don't think she had any idea how relevant her story sharing would be in this day and age where political honor and integrity were so in question as never before. It is time that we, as a country, wake up and pay attention! The timing and an acquaintance of a new friend who was familiar with dad while he was Director of Agriculture for California, prompted me to get the book put together and "out there" to the public, given politics has gone somewhat sideways. Our representatives have become more committed to those that buy their election than to the constituents they represent. We need to remember that we vote them into office and they work for us, the American people. Holding office is supposed to be a role where an individual is employed by the people they are to represent. It's a rare bird, as my Mom would say, to find a politician with integrity, focused on really addressing the issues of the day without petty worthless bills that do nothing to improve our quality of life, serving only to distract and confuse the public while they go and work on bills that are not for our best interest but in theirs. It is time to re-focus. It is time to wake up and pay attention. It is time to get back to real grass roots politics. It is time to pay attention to those running for office, discerning consistency and a hearts desire to help the American people create a more stable lifestyle.
