Slaters Lot... Mark Slater appeared to live his personal life exactly like his business life. Monopolising and manipulating with equal amounts of force and charm to get whatever it was he wants. At this moment in time it appeared to be a family. Where did Ellen fit in to his scheme of things? Since losing her memory in an accident, life was like walking through a fog. She could only see what was directly in front of her, and without seeing the complete picture nothing made any sense, but if he didn't love her, and she had no reason to believe he did. It was just sex. A family without love didn't bear thinking about, but the alternative was equally unbearable. Mark is a self-made man brought up in care. Whereas Ellen is a young woman from a fairly, affluent, family who is personally over shadowed by her elder sister. The romance that started fast and furiously was over shadowed, by Ellen's amnesia that was due in part by her serious lack of confidence, seconded only by Marks lack of belief that he was worthy of being loved.
