Welcome to Midgard, a place of fantasy and high adventure! Where elves stalk the forest, dwarves mine the mountains, giants roam the plains, and mankind tries to carve for themselves a home as well. The setting is the Dark Ages in the lands of the north. The era of the Viking! Skald's Cry: Battle for Midgard is a unique table-top gaming experience. It combines elements of traditional role playing games, with turn-based "top down" strategic combat, and empire/army building and maintaining. All of this, and a roll-based randomizer to make each play through unique to that specific time. Even if the same player, chose the same ruler type, and region, the game would be unique for them, because of the randomness of the optional missions. There are even three different endings for the included story, that are based off the players actions! This is the Core Rule Book for the game, Skald's Cry: Battle for Midgard. This book contains all the rules, and guidelines needed to play the game, but does NOT include the maps, tokens, adventurer sheets, ruler sheets, or ruler ledger. You will either need these separately, or use a pen and note-pad to write it all out yourselves, along with your imagination.
