Farouk Shousha (born 1936) is an Egyptian poet. He hosted the popular television program Umsiya Thaqafiya ("Cultural Evening") from 1977 through 2006. Shousha was born in Damietta, where he attended kuttab. He credits the kuttab with providing him "a strong foundation of language." When a cholera epidemic led to his confinement at home, Shousha read poetry to pass the time. Afterwards, he began a programmatic reading of Arabic poetry at the local library. The selection of this book comes in the process of Ihyaa al Turath al Arabi fil Mahjar-Revival of Arab Heritage in Diaspora project, sponsored by the Arab American Encyclopedia- USA. The two projects aim with the purpose of protecting Arab language and introducing Literature in Arab heritage to serve 1st, 2nd, and third Arab generations in Diaspora. The author is an Arab Palestinian scholar and social scientist. He published and authored 280 plus books may be found on Amazon and Kindle. Dr. Yahya resides in Michigan-USA. Dr. Yahya has four children and ten grandchildren .
