Sir Richard and Rev. Bull continue to fight, not only each other but jointly attempt to assist in the continuation of influence in The Commonwealth against the evil, foreign influences that seem to grow by the day. Mo's help leads to injury and near death in action packed adventure in Africa while at home Bram's entry into banking leads to the loss of the family home. Fern, Dick and Lucy all struggle with their own problems as does daughter Tara. The sparks which burned so many fingers in the first book about 'Richards Park' continue, and bring new problems for these two families who are compelled to live in such close proximity. Can life ever reach a healthy, happy, heavenly state when it seems that the Devil has both families by the nose?
