Synopsis "Pumpkin Meets The Faery Queen (in English)"

Pumpkin Meets the Faery Queen is a story written with an intention to inspire imagination through the written expression of a story about a little girl and a group of unusual creatures similar to those found in many "Fairy Tales" around the world. This story is about Faeries and learning magic; the magic a child finds in the world through imagination. It is a story that displays healthy methods of self-discovery from the perspective of a child. As children grow and mature, they are making all kinds of discoveries about the world and they do most of it all through the experience of their imaginations. If a child does not have the luxury of using imagination to discover the world, it could have a very dark and destructive impact on a child's perception of the world and how they fit into it. In this story, a little girl who is out playing in nature happens across a group of little beings who call themselves Faeries. The Faery Queen introduces herself as Sidhe (pronounced like She). Although this story is not based on traditional Fairy lore, it is definitely influenced by that particular culture where the concept of Faeries originated. It is the belief of Summer Song that children learn more than academics through using their imagination. They learn things like who they are and where they fit into the world and what that means in the grand scheme of things not to mention how to work through adversity. This story is written with the age group of 5 years old to 8 years old but for the reading and comprehension level of 10 and up. Summer wrote it this way to encourage parents and older siblings to read to the younger children. We all know a child needs to practice reading, however, they also need to experience their imagination through hearing the story being fluently read to them to allow their imaginations to run freely while they listen to the story. It is how we as human beings go on adventures without leaving our home and it adds variety to the sources of discovery because it is not the usual method a child usually experiences when they learn through watching television or sitting at school. Summer says, "Don't be afraid to expand the imagination of your child. Expose them to strange and unusual stories and concepts that have very little basis in 'reality' but totally opens them up to the concept of possibilities."
