Synopsis "Project Ivy: A Teenager's Guide to the Ivy League Schools (in English)"
The Ivy League schools - with their rich traditions, impeccable reputations, famous alums and massive endowments - are the jewels of the American collegiate system. My big sister goes to one of these schools and that makes me curious about them. What is the big deal about the Ivy League schools? To find out, my younger brother and I did some research and then went on a road trip with my parents to visit all eight schools, starting at U Penn and ending at Princeton about a week later. My brother used his research for a social studies fair where he got 1st place in the regional competition, and I used my research to write this book. During our journey, we did research to include school traditions, the school's surroundings, basic information about admission criteria, financial aid and cost, and what students are saying about the culture and dorms of the school. Trust me, as a pre-teen at the time, I even researched the important stuff, like the unbelievable myths and legends, running trails, and the quality of hot chocolate in the area! So parents and students, if you are curious about the Ivy League schools and want to get a view of what they are all about, then this book is for you. So, enjoy learning about the Ivy League!
