Synopsis "Professor Midnight: Costumed & Masked Mystery Man of Adventure: Costumed & Masked Mystery Man of Adventure (in English)"
Dr. Carl Krytchek, M.D. witnessed his parents murders by a mobster's bomb planted inside their small grocery store one cold evening in December 1931 and dedicated his life after that night to bringing their killer to justice when donning the mask and disguising his identity by 1932 as the vigilante Professor Midnight. After that quest, Krytchek fought other criminals, enemy agents, mad scientists and other assorted megalomaniacal figures and organizations in the United States and in various places around the world. Taking on a teenage partner named Shade (Wu Jan Min) in 1935 during his globetrotting adventures, only to lose that youth in 1938, as some of his far-flung cases became increasingly bizarre, the physician-turned-vigilante/hero met others to aid his cause for justice by World War II (and beyond after a time machine moved him forward fifteen years from 1946-1961). Professor Midnight would also work within two different costumed crime fighting teams - the Atlantic Guard (1941-46) and the Mysterious Way (1965-69) and on later occasions aided younger costumed superheroes (one being his son Stephen as the giant amphibious hero Titan of the 1980s-90s Mighty Miami Force). Partnered with black teenager Nightshadow (Charles Griffin) from 1939 to 1946 and his soul mate Amphibia (Lady Athina from Kronos Island, later Atlantia Kronos Krytchek) after 1941 during his masked secret career, Professor Midnight perished on a North Miami Florida beach with Amphibia helping their son's superhero team battle a nuclear-generated 30' monster called Dark Energy. Here within this tome are eighteen short stories and novellas about Dr. Carl Krytchek and his masked alter ego.
