Synopsis "Pretty Pride (in English)"
1887 At auction, Leif Kenyon bid and won the beautiful, bursting-with-potential Pretty Homestead, the perfect property for his saw-mill. His bid, however, comes with unforeseen, knotty strings attached: one bitter, fiery, prickly red-head, Zola Pretty, and her sullen, teenage brother, Forest. Leif's first and immediate problem, how to save face and reputations among the close-knit community of Pretty Dale? Solution: immediately take Zola as his wife. Who can deny Zola her outrage, her humiliation at being reduced to the status of domestic help, her brother a farm hand, and an offer of marriage in one day. Circumstances chafe. Mr. Kenyon did out bid, save her and her brother from the horrid, disgusting neighbor, Amos Emory. And from his appearance, at least Mr. Kenyon bathes.
